Phonics readers and rhymes for early years

Decodable stories and chants for the sounds your class is learning.

Steps

  1. 1Press Create and choose Phonics Reader.
  2. 2Choose the child who is reading.
  3. 3Pick the language and the phonics level your class is on. Add a topic if you like.
  4. 4Press Make the reader. In about a minute it's in the library: read it together and press play to hear each word.
  5. 5For Nursery, LKG and UKG classes, open Make a Rhyme, choose the class and child, say what it's about and press Make my rhyme.

For better results

  • Match the level to the sounds you've taught this week: Level 1 starts with first sounds, and later levels add digraphs and blends.
  • Read each story twice: once to sound it out, once for fluency and fun.
  • Rhymes are made for pre-primary classes. Clap, stamp or wiggle along with every verse.
