Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: March 27, 2025

1. Our Commitment to Inclusion

At ZunoTales, operated by Galactic Matrix - Portugal, we believe that the magic of storytelling and the power of creative education should be accessible to everyone. We are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities and are continuously improving the user experience for all families, educators, and children using our platform.

Our goal is to build an inclusive EdTech environment that meets the diverse needs of our global community.

2. Accessibility Standards applied

We actively strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA. These guidelines, defined by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), outline how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

3. Key Accessibility Features in ZunoTales

To support an inclusive storytelling and learning experience, ZunoTales incorporates several accessibility-focused features:

  • Responsive Design: Our interface is designed to be highly responsive and functional across various devices, screen sizes, and orientations.
  • Voice Input & Narration: We provide Voice-to-Text capabilities for both young authors and educators to draft stories without needing to type. All generated stories include synchronized, human-like AI narration to assist with auditory learning and phonics tracking.
  • High Contrast & Typography: Our UI utilizes carefully selected contrast ratios and legible, clear typography to assist users with low vision or cognitive learning preferences.
  • Screen Reader Compatibility: We are continuously optimizing our structural HTML (including specific ARIA labels) to improve the reading experience for users relying on screen readers.
  • Word-by-Word Highlighting: Our story generation pipeline includes a read-along feature that highlights words as they are narrated, significantly supporting early readers and children with dyslexia or related processing delays.

4. Ongoing Efforts & Known Limitations

While we strive for comprehensive WCAG 2.1 AA compliance, ZunoTales is an actively evolving platform featuring complex, multi-modal outputs (such as dynamic AI-generated illustrations and interactive components). Consequently, some elements may not yet be completely accessible to all assistive technologies.

Our ongoing accessibility roadmap includes:

  • Enhancing keyboard navigation across all complex interactive story builder forms.
  • Improving alternative text (alt-tags) mapping for all AI-generated imagery.
  • Conducting routine third-party accessibility audits as our application scales.

5. Feedback and Support for Educators

We understand that educational institutions (under frameworks such as ADA and Section 508 in the US) require strict adherence to accessibility standards to successfully deploy technology in the classroom. We welcome your feedback, and we are prepared to work with your institution's tech administrators to meet your specific compliance requirements.
