ZunoTales Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account and using our Services, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. You also affirm that you are at least 18 years of age and are the parent or legal guardian of any child whose information you provide, or you are an educator with the proper authority to act on behalf of your students.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Services.

2. The Services

ZunoTales provides a platform to generate, read, and share stories. Users can create stories using our AI tools or write their own. For children, we require a parent, legal guardian, or authorized educator to create and manage their account and profiles.

3. User Content and AI-Generated Content

You own what you create; we own what we create.
  • Your Content: You retain full ownership of any original text, prompts, or other content you submit to the Service ('User Content'). This includes stories written by children in 'Young Author Mode'.
  • AI-Generated Content: All content generated by our AI, including story text, illustrations, and narration ('AI Content'), is owned by ZunoTales. We grant you a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, display, and share the AI Content generated for your stories for personal, non-commercial purposes.
  • License to Us: By submitting User Content, you grant ZunoTales a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, host, store, reproduce, modify, and create derivative works (such as translations or adaptations) of your User Content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and improving our Services.
  • Public Stories: If you choose to make a story public, you grant all users of the Service the right to view, share, and interact with your story.

4. Child Safety and COPPA Compliance

Protecting children is our highest priority.

We are committed to complying with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. A parent, legal guardian, or authorized educator must create an account and any child/student profiles.

Parents have the right to review, edit, and delete their child's personal information at any time via their account dashboard. We will never share your child's personally identifiable information with third parties for marketing purposes. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child without parental consent, please contact us at copyright@zunotales.com so we can promptly remove it.

5. Acceptable Use

Be kind and creative.

You agree not to use the Services to create, upload, or share any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, or defamatory. We reserve the right to remove any content and terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Fees and Payment

Some features of the Service may require payment. All fees are stated in Euros (EUR) and are non-refundable except as required by law. We reserve the right to change our prices. If we do, we will provide you with advance notice. ZunoTales does not store your credit card information; all payments are processed through a secure third-party payment processor.

7. Termination

You are free to leave at any time.

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. We may also suspend or terminate your access to the Services if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Services will cease, and we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

We do our best, but we provide the service 'as is'.

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED 'AS IS' WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ZunoTales SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Ireland, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you, for example, by posting a notice on our site or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Services after the changes have become effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

11. Educator-Specific Terms

If you are an educator using the Services in a school environment, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to act on behalf of your school and students and have obtained all necessary consents (including parental consent as required by COPPA and FERPA) to create and manage student accounts and share student information with us.
